Hunting after a heavy rain: better conditions?

RonNH seems to believe it's better when the ground is moist. What are your thoughts?

No doubt about it. Better conductivity and you will find items deeper.

My gut telles me the same: Moist soil, good hunting conditions.

Maybe they have health conditions that only lets them go out when it is warm and dry!
