Here is the issue I am presently having. Up to this point I have only used the preset setting that come loaded by default. I have been hunting a GREAT spot where there are plenty of pre 1860 coins. The problem is this place was also a villiage before the 1860s when it was flooded. So, there are also TONS of old rusty nails and the ground is also high iron.

I have found 4 LCs and one half silver reale so far. When I set the detector to coin or coin & jewelry I so many times get a rusty nail or small pc of rusty iron come up clear as a coin. I dig up the rusty nail, recheck and nothing.

I want to try and get as much quality time in this reservoir before it fills agin for the winter like it did last year.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
