After our divorced in 1973, we each met & married another via a club we started. The best part of our marriage and friendship has been our son, Scott Charles. Both help me with my business & staying alive. To make things work better, I share my house with them.

I have also been fortunate to be able to treasure hunt with a metal detector in the sea at warm islands, and in great places in the USA & Europe. Only way this happens is because Jane, Logan Thomas or Masrtin Miffek watches the shop for me. (My Suzy was laid to rest at 17 years old in March and I miss her terrible. I want another poodle.
Jane does not fly and Scott & I do not always see eye to eye. As a result tghey do not travel with me, with encouragement from my friends, and being greedy, we take too many treasure hunting trips a year.
Mostly all who I (my shop Streeters) sell new Minelab Excalibur II metal detectors, are invited to go on my trips. Guests share expenses of lodging, home cooked meals, rental car, including organizers too). Guests do this with a deposit (usually about $600 and each pays own airfare. You have to be over 21, be able to get along with older people and be willing to share duties. And GUESTS can't be too good at water hunting and if you lie about your experience, you won't be invited again.. For some, its a terrible feeling, when another on the adventure finds over a 100 pieces of gold.

http://www.northeastmetaldetectingforum.com/read.php?1,25337,25337#msg-25337 A FEW DO & DO NOTS (no replies) http://www.northeastmetaldetectingforum.com/read.php?1,25337,25337#msg-25337 Metal Detecting A few DO & DO NOTS and Submitted by Philip Oliver Holz
1. Take all the trash that you dig and discard it properly in trash receptacles. This is the environmentally correct thing to do. Besides, you might just end up re-digging the same targets at a later date, if you don’t.
2. Fill all holes that you dig, in parks, on the beach, and even in water, if you are active bathing beach site. This is a big problem, and can easily lead to the ruination of this great hobby. Learn good digging techniques … ask if you do not know.
3. Make sure you have a metal detecting permit, if one is required.
4. Always use headphones. No one will hear the signal except you, so you won’t annoy beachgoers, bookworms, etc. Besides, using headphones increases battery life.
5. Don’t walk close to blankets, and be careful of windy days, which can blow sand that you are sifting onto the people on the blanket
6. Always obtain permission to hunt, when in doubt.
7. If possible, hunt with a partner in isolated areas.
8. Watch out for ticks & fleas; use OFF
9. Treat your detector like it is the household pet … don’t leave it in the trunk of your car during the hot summer months, and remember to keep it clean.
10 Always use a coil cover & clean it out regularly.
11. Always carry spare batteries.
12.. Let your spouse know where you intend to hunt in case of an emergency on behalf of either one of you.
13. You are not allowed to use your metal detector on National Seashore property.
14.Do not hunt on registered historical battlefields. If you do not heed this warning, take along some heavy duty reading material.
15. Watch out for electrical & plumbing lines.
16. Do not lean your metal detector against the wall or table, etc. (it may fall) . Either hung it on a wall or lie it flat where no one can step on it.
17. Never clean your finds (especially coins) until you’re ascertained their value. We have coin books & test kits& will be happy to test diamonds or gold for you at no charge.
18 When in doubt about anything, use common sense. Never take unnecessary risks and remember the Golden Rule: “Do onto others as you would have them do onto you“.
19. Never walk on the sand dunes. The following was taken from a sign at Sunken Forrest: Please stay off the sand dunes. What permanence there is on the ever changing barrier island comes from the beach grass. The grass traps windblown sand & binds the dunes together. Destroy the grass and the dune vanishes in the wind. When the dune is gone, the varied living communities once shelter behind it are exposed to the full fury of the salt spray & drifting sand. Walking just once over the dunes exposes the roots & kills the beach grass. This opens a small clink in the dune & the wind funnels through, creating bowl-shaped blow cuts. Dunes take years to form, they can be destroyed in a day. Help save our dunes by leaving them be. Use designated cross walks to the beach.
20. Remember no matter “how great” your metal detector is, it takes time to learn it: so take your time, pay your dues & practice.]]>

http://www.northeastmetaldetectingforum.com/read.php?1,25088,25088#msg-25088 A few words from our sponsor, (no replies) http://www.northeastmetaldetectingforum.com/read.php?1,25088,25088#msg-25088
Regardless, what anyone says, I do not know it all and yes I like to bragg about my friends, customers, Society & Forum members & my treasure hunting accomplishments. I think, I am just a lucky treasure hunter, however many times, all I find is a good time.
I have been selling metal detectors & prospecting supplies since APRIL OF 1973. My store is now on .NH. Rte 101 in Marlborough, NH and we are open 10am to 5pm, 6 days a week (7 days a week during Christmas) Phone 603/876-4443. I eat and sleep metal detecting and since 1973 have organized 2 clubs, a treasure hunters newspaper and an annual Best O' North East Treasure Hunters week, (#20 is April 25 - 28, 2013) . I also organize at least 6 Caribbean treasure hunting adventures every year.
I like looking for and finding lost valuable gold & silver jewerly & old coins in area lakes & ponds and in the warmer months of the yearr wth my underwater metal detector. So I can do my hobby I organize all year around I organize Caribbean treasure hunting adventures. In the beginning it was research, travel and detecting 20+ Caribbean islands looking for the best beaches to detect. Now that I lknow where the good spots are, and we fly to the most productive Islands and have never returned without gold. Because they are my vacations, I only invite non smolking customers who have have purchased a Minelab Excalibur II underwater metal detector from me. I estimate in the last 3 years, we have found over a quaerter of million in jewerly finds. Each keeps what they find with the understanding, if it can be returned, they are expected to try and no one should return to one of the island beaches without informing George. In 2012 it was St Thomas, Curacao, Antigua, Spain, France, & 2 times to my secret island.
In February 2012 in Curacao, I traded a new Excalibur II 800 for a week's lodgings and meals at a Spain resort for 2 . Three others were invited with understanding they reimburse me for the traded detector.. Again I found enough to cover expenses witha profit.b]
My treasure hunting adventures help find content for my Treasure Hunter's Gazette newspaper, the Streeter and the Forum web sites and in recruiting treasure hunters to join or attend the Professional Treasure Hunters Historical Society's annual Best O' North East (BONE) Treasure Hunter's Weekends. BONE has been held every year since 1994 and #20 is April 25 - 28 2013. If interested in treasure hunting, you are invited..
In order to make my trips happen, I invite customers, whom I believe wiII mix well with others and help with the dailey chores. All coming pay their own airfare and share land expenses for lodging, home cooked meals & rental car).. If you are accepted, you must be able to detect in the water up to 8 hours a day, provide a list of medicines, taken & a contact person ), and agree to help with the adventure chores. All on my vacations are requested to bring and use a Minelab Excalibur II

"Streeter's" is a multi-line (Minelab, Whites, Garrett & Fisher metal detector business. Everything we sell has been tested and approved by Streeter himself. However I have found the most in the water with the Miinelab Excaliburs and most times on land with a Whites detector.
On my trips I want's those traveling with me, to use the same detector and this way, we learn from each other. Every year I organize a few Caribbean treasure hunting adventure trips for my non smoking Minelab Excalibur customers. All going pay a share of the lodging, home cooked meals and the rental car. We are ambassador’s for the United Staes of American and we encourage all to act that way. Unless the owner of found item is known, everyone is allowed to keep what they find. Hunters are requested to fill in their holes, take found trash & depose of it properly.
I hate cirgerette smoke and prefer non smoking travelers, however smokers are good people and if they promise to smoke in private, they may be invited, . All going are encouraged to write a trip article for my newspaper and to participate in a group finds photo. There are no guarantees anyone will find any gold, silver or money, however dedicated & knowledgeable detectorist are usually rewarded in more ways then one.b]
I was bashed by a few jealous hunters, a few years ago, I do not care, because these are my vacations, which I share Anyone else can do the same thing any way they want. However with my vacations its my way or no way. I am always open to questions and suggestions, and would prefer to communicate via a PM. Also if you do come on a trip, do not take offence if I call you a "prick" I save this tittle for hunters who make great finds and make me jeaslous. Streeter

Streeters is always open (even if George Streeter is away) 6 days a week, & Sundays are pot luck = Open Monday to Saturday from around 10am in the morning to around 5pm in the afternnon. Sundays hours are pot luck and you should call first 1-603-876-4443, When gone, Jane & our son Scott Streeter and friends Martin Miffek & David Gaillardetz watch Suzy and the shop for me. .

Metal detecting is fun & rewarding,
